Summary

The squad you love is out of time。 Prepare for the thrilling finale in the epic, best-selling Aurora Cycle series about a band of unlikely heroes who just might be the galaxy's last hope for survival。

Is this the end?

What happens when you ask a bunch of losers, discipline cases, and misfits to save the galaxy from an ancient evil? The ancient evil wins, of course。
Wait。 。 。 。 Not。 So。 Fast。
When we last saw Squad 312, they working together seamlessly (aka, freaking out) as an intergalactic battle raged and an ancient superweapon threatened to obliterate Earth。 Everything went horribly wrong, naturally。
But as it turns out, not all endings are endings, and the te4am has one last chance to rewrite thirs。 Maybe two。 It's complicated。
Cue Zila, Fin, and Scarlett (and MAGELLAN!): making friends, making enemies, and making history? Sure, no problem
Cue Tyler, Kal, and Auri: uniting with two of the galaxy’s most hated villains? Um, okay。 That, too。
Actually saving the galaxy, though?
Now that will take a miracle。

Finally, the wait is over! At the end of book two in this trilogy, Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman cruelly left us hanging by our fingernails off a huge cliff, wondering how our favourite squad 312 could possibly survive, let alone save the galaxy。 Now all will finally be revealed。 It’s impossible to say much without giving spoilers, but rest assured that even when separated by both time and space, squad 312 will do their utmost to stop the Ra’haam in their quest to devour all other life forms in Finally, the wait is over! Squad 312 failed。 They couldn't even try to destroy the voracious Ra'haam hivemind because the superweapon they needed had already been stolen by the genocidal Caersan and aimed at Earth。 Then it just vanishes。 Only squad leader Tyler is left to stop the Ra'haam, which is tricky because he's being held captive by an alien warrior princess who either wants to stab or kiss him。 Unbeknownst to him, his teammates Zila, Fin, and Scarlett are stuck in a time loop in the past, while Aurora and Kal are Squad 312 failed。 They couldn't even try to destroy the voracious Ra'haam hivemind because the superweapon they needed had already been stolen by the genocidal Caersan and aimed at Earth。 Then it just vanishes。 Only squad leader Tyler is left to stop the Ra'haam, which is tricky because he's being held captive by an alien warrior princess who either wants to stab or kiss him。 Unbeknownst to him, his teammates Zila, Fin, and Scarlett are stuck in a time loop in the past, while Aurora and Kal are trapped on the superweapon with Caersan。 Somehow contains even more epic action than the first two books and no less snark。 Thanks, Netgalley。 。。。more

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHIHHH!! I have loved this series since the first book, and this last installment - THE LAST - does not disappoint at all。 I was emotional。 I had to stop reading a few times, to process。 I cried and grieved, and I was happy, and I was angry!! Just so many emotions! I loved it。 I am sad to let these characters go, but I cannot wait to reread the series and relive it all, and especially now that it is complete。Bravo, once again, to my favorite authors。 For all the twists and turn AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHIHHH!! Firstly thanks to Netgalley and Oneworld Publications for the early access copy。I was so excited to get this and read it ahead of publication after the cliffhanger ending of book two but I will say off the bat that I don’t think that this book is as good as the first two。I don’t want to give any spoilers away but I thought that the first 20% of the book was a bit out of character for the people that we had come to know and love。 Despite this I did enjoy spending more time and character developme Firstly thanks to Netgalley and Oneworld Publications for the early access copy。I was so excited to get this and read it ahead of publication after the cliffhanger ending of book two but I will say off the bat that I don’t think that this book is as good as the first two。I don’t want to give any spoilers away but I thought that the first 20% of the book was a bit out of character for the people that we had come to know and love。 Despite this I did enjoy spending more time and character development with a certain someone。 I thought that they had been fleshed out nicely and the motivations were clearer。 There is a very handy dandy ‘who’s who and where’ at the beginning of the book so that you can remember what is going on across the split parties。 The action was non stop and fully sucks you in。 I just wanted more wise-ass comments from Finnian throughout! 。。。more

The set-up of book 3 is that the main characters are seperated into three groups - I will talk about my thoughts on each of their stories below:Finian/Scarlet/ZilaThese three spent most of the book trapped in a time loop, forced to repeat the same few hours over and over until they can escape。 This was probably my favourite part of the book, I always looked forward to their chapters and the developments and revelations we discover。 I also liked the new character we meet in the time loop Nari。Tyler/SaediiTyler is now a prisoner of the unbroken and is trying to convice the rest of the galaxy to take seriously the threat of the Ra'sheem, as he is the only member of squad 312 left in the proper timeline。 I really like Tyler as a character (Im a sucker for the golden retriver bois) so I enjoyed his chapters and his interactions with Saedii (who is also very much my type lol)。Auri/KalThese two have found themselves transported into the future along with Kal's warcriminal father and must find a way to repair the weapon and travel back to the proper time to save the galaxy。 Kal and Auri are probably my least favourite characters of the group but the direction their story took in this book I actually really enjoyed and loved the themes it looked at。 I really like all the characters in the series but for me the romances are not very strong and are probably the weakest part of the book for me。 However I did quite like the developments between Tyler and Saedii and without giving too much away what happens when we meet future (dilf) Tyler ;)I think this series is a great sci-fi for young adult readers and those new to the genre, it introduces a lot of common concepts and tropes in a fun and easy to read way。 This installment also plays quite a lot with time which I think the authors did a good job of managing not to make it confusing and tying everything together in a satisfying way。 In conclusion this was an enjoyable conclusion with some really great found family moments and a fast paced plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time, if you can get over some slightly cringy romance and cheesy writing。 。。。more

What a ride with some amazing characters。 This trilogy was quite an adventure and I'm sad to see it end。 I had a few moments in the book where I was confused as to why the the authors did what they did but hey, it's their book they can do what they want。 Overall I'm going to be sad to leave these characters behind and how they grew through the three books。 Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC for an honest opinion。 What a ride with some amazing characters。 This trilogy was quite an adventure and I'm sad to see it end。 I had a few moments in the book where I was confused as to why the the authors did what they did but hey, it's their book they can do what they want。 Overall I'm going to be sad to leave these characters behind and how they grew through the three books。 Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC for an honest opinion。 。。。more

Thank you netgalley for this free ARC。 Aurora's End is the last in this trilogy。 Aurora and Kel have dissapeared, Tyler Jones a prisoner or war, and the rest of the squad are living the same day over and over。 The threat of the Ra'hamm is beyond warning, they have come。 This book proves to be a satisfactory ending to a wonderful series。 It is action packed and ready to play with your heart strings in all the wrong ways。 Don't let the page count fool you。 Its worth the read。 Thank you netgalley for this free ARC。 Aurora's End is the last in this trilogy。 Aurora and Kel have dissapeared, Tyler Jones a prisoner or war, and the rest of the squad are living the same day over and over。 The threat of the Ra'hamm is beyond warning, they have come。 This book proves to be a satisfactory ending to a wonderful series。 It is action packed and ready to play with your heart strings in all the wrong ways。 Don't let the page count fool you。 Its worth the read。 。。。more

I was really excited about this book because the second one left you on a huge cliffhanger! That being said the cliffhanger was redeemed in this novel! Now you do have a recap at the beginning of the book so that was awesome, I feel like that was what helped me connect everything even though I have read the other two novels。 However, this book should come with an UGLY CRYING warning。 Late 2 am crying。 This is a book of action and there really are no dull moments, the authors did a very great job I was really excited about this book because the second one left you on a huge cliffhanger! Holy crap… right from the very first page I could not put this damn book down! I was racing through the pages as fast as I possibly could。 Who was alive… where were my favourites? What was going to happen to them? I desperately needed to know and I am so so so happy with the outcome。Aurora’s End is without a doubt one of the best series finales I have ever had the pleasure of reading。 It is utterly perfect in the most heartbreaking and devastating way。 I cannot remember the last time I cried this much at a book。 At one point I had to stop reading as I was sobbing so damn hard I couldn’t breathe and couldn’t see the words on the page。 Amie and Jay have mastered the balance of breaking your heart completely while also making you love every single moment of it。 I am so sad this series is over and I will be waiting on tenterhooks for news of the next Kaufman-Kristoff series… because seriously these two together… they are magical!Aurora’s End completely changed my perception of everything。 If you had asked me prior to this book who my favourite character is, I would have told you Kal。 Absolutely! And while I still adore him… my favourite character now is Zila。 I love her so, so much and I am super salty that she is not on the cover of this one! As much as I love Finian… it is a damn CRIME that Zila did not get her own cover! I will never not be salty about this。 Wanna know why? …。。 well you’re just gonna have to read the book and see。This was without a doubt one of the most phenomenal books I have ever read。 It was completely and utterly devastating in the best way possible。 I loved every single spacy moment of it and I just wanna read the entire series all over again。 There will never be a day when I don’t recommend this phenomenal series! Thank you, as always, to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC。This review is not going to go over well with the general public, but BIG YIKES。 I am not a fan。 I loved, LOVED the first two。 So much so that during quarantine, I sent my students copies of Aurora Burning as it had just come out。 But this one? Any book that can tear my heart out while I wipe away the tears so my eyes aren't too blurry to keep reading is a winner。 All the ways they say goodbye broke me but oh what a journey! Yes, I did。Did some parts dragged? Yes, they did。Were some parts unnecessary long when they didn't bring much to the story but were sort of fillers at that point? Yes。 there were。The writing, as usual, is funny (but as I said above, sometimes it felt like it was trying too much to be "cool") and captivating, making the sci-fi technicalities seem less ominous that they actually were。 I liked the whole concept this book had going on。 Not spoiling anything here so I won't say anything more。 It's the kind of concept that makes you go "wait a sec, let me see if I got this。 It appears I didn't get a thing" and it's just amazing just trying to guess exactly what is what and what's going to happen。So yeah, this ending was better than the furious middle, and, even with the few problems I had with it (maybe I'm not just used to YA sci-fi anymore) I still enjoyed the hell out of it。I'm going to miss the squad! 。。。more

It’s been a long ass time since I stayed up late to finish a book but like。 Wow。 Really loved what they did here。 Hell I even teared up at the end。 Maybe it’s because it’s 2am。 Either way。 Yep。 Damn good conclusion to a great series。

I have been waiting with anxious, nay baited, breath for the third book in this trilogy ever since my breathless one day reading of book two ended on the worst cliffhanger of all time。 Thankfully Netgalley exists and I managed to snag a free eARC of this third installment months before I would otherwise have been able to read it。 That being said, take my glowing comments with the appropriate grain of salt as I both a) love these authors and loved both previous books in the series and b) received I have been waiting with anxious, nay baited, breath for the third book in this trilogy ever since my breathless one day reading of book two ended on the worst cliffhanger of all time。 Thankfully Netgalley exists and I managed to snag a free eARC of this third installment months before I would otherwise have been able to read it。 That being said, take my glowing comments with the appropriate grain of salt as I both a) love these authors and loved both previous books in the series and b) received my copy of the book for free in exchange for an honest review。That being said, I’m not sure how much I can rave about this wonderful ending to the series, given the cliffhanger at the end of the second book, as anything I say (including who is and is not alive a few chapters in) would be spoiling a truly epic tale。 I will say that I finally understand why the authors chose to use so many points to view in their story, time travel does get involved (you find this out right away, so I maintain it is not cheating to tell you all) and poor Squad 312 gets thrown into three separate places along the timeline。 Other than that, I can only tell you that you should re-watch Groundhog Day again before reading this one and that it is well worth the time to finish out this wonderful series by reading the final, astounding book。 So, dear fellow readers, I leave you with one final benediction, “I will see you in the stars”。 。。。more

I am 100% invested with the Aurora Cycle, so reading Aurora's End was a no-brainer。 Overall, I am happy with the series conclusion。 This installment differed a little in the writing style, because I am assuming the authors were trying to sum up an incredible story。 It ended up being a little choppy and slightly overwhelming, but I did not let that sway me。 In fact, it is probably due to the fact that Kaufman and Kristoff wove in some pretty intense time travel concepts that my brain just needed I am 100% invested with the Aurora Cycle, so reading Aurora's End was a no-brainer。 Overall, I am happy with the series conclusion。 This installment differed a little in the writing style, because I am assuming the authors were trying to sum up an incredible story。 It ended up being a little choppy and slightly overwhelming, but I did not let that sway me。 In fact, it is probably due to the fact that Kaufman and Kristoff wove in some pretty intense time travel concepts that my brain just needed time to digest。 I was impressed at the level truth they attempted for such an amorphous topic。That being said, I was THRILLED to rejoin my favorite characters once again。 I definitely recommend this book for anyone who enjoyed the first two books in the series。 And if you haven't already read them, go check them out right now! 。。。more
